ZIEGLERVILLE – In a partnership with Wiggins Shredding, Rep. Marcy Toepel (R- Montgomery) is hosting a free paper shredding event for households of the 147th District on Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to noon at Perkiomen Valley Middle School West, 220 Big Road, Zieglerville.
The event, which will feature an on-site industrial paper shredder, will provide the opportunity to shred up to four packing boxes of materials. The boxes will be returned to residents.
“In addition to protecting your identity through secure shredding, this event also offers environmental benefits. In fact, all shredded paper is recycled, and every ton of recycled paper saves 7,000 gallons of water, 4,000 kilowatts of energy and 380 gallons of oil,” Toepel said. “We can protect the Earth and ourselves from identity theft at the same time – a no brainer.”
Per Wiggins Shredding, paper will not be accepted from businesses or organizations. Only paper, not cardboard or CDs, will be accepted. Staples and paper clips need not be removed. All shredding takes place onsite, and the event will be held rain or shine.
For more information about the event, please call the Gilbertsville district office at 610-323-3299.
