Toepel Comments on Governor’s Budget Proposal
3/8/2011

Rep. Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) issued the following statement today regarding Gov. Tom Corbett’s $27.3 billion budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year:

‘The Governors’ budget proposal is a starting point for a new discussion that balances state spending with state revenue. The overriding theme of his budget speech was job creation and fiscal discipline, a welcome message to beleaguered taxpayers across the Commonwealth.  This proposal does not contain any new taxes or fees, and contains several proposals which could help return jobs to our Commonwealth. “The process of passing a responsible budget is just beginning. I look forward to helping craft a final budget that will deliver a sustainable spending plan that exercises restraint while delivering core services more efficiently.”
