Toepel Invites Residents to Attend Forum on Route 422 Tolling

Rep. Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) is inviting area residents to join her for a public forum to discuss the potential tolling of Route 422.

The event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.) at Pope John Paul II High School, 181 Rittenhouse Road, in Royersford.

In June, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) unveiled a proposal to levy a toll on Route 422 as a way to fund construction projects and a light rail system.

“While I am strongly opposed to this, I want to hear from the people who would be most affected by this plan,” Toepel said.  “This event will give you the chance to ask questions and voice your concerns.”

Toepel will be on the panel with Reps. Warren Kampf (R-Montgomery/Chester), Mike Vereb (R-Montgomery) and Tom Quigley (R-Montgomery).  They will be joined by Stan Huskey, editor of the Norristown Times-Herald; Barry Seymour, executive director of the DVRPC; and Montgomery County Commissioner and former DVRPC Board Chairman Joe Hoeffel.
