Toepel To Hold Non-Profit Fraud Prevention Seminar
HARRISBURG – In an effort to protect you and your non-profit organization, Rep. Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) is hosting a fraud prevention seminar. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Boyertown Area Hollenbach Center YMCA located at 3065 N. Charlotte St. in Gilbertsville.

“Far too often local non-profits such as youth sports leagues, scouting groups or other local volunteer organizations end up in the news as the victims of fraud or embezzlement,” Toepel said. “This seminar will help local non-profit organizers to protect their organizations, and ensure their funds are going to help those who truly deserve it.”

Toepel will be joined by representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney and Montgomery County Controller’s offices. The program is designed for parents, leaders and officials involved in non-profits to share information about how to keep finances secure and to avoid becoming a victim of common schemes used to steal money from local organizations. Prosecutors and professional auditors will be on hand to help explain how to ensure your funds can be protected from potential fraud.
