Toepel Sworn In to Third Term; Appointed chairman of ceremonial committee
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Rep. Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) took the oath of office as the representative from the 147th Legislative District. She was joined by her husband Mark (pictured) for swearing-in day.
– Rep. Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) took the oath of office today to begin her third term representing the people of the 147th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
“I appreciate the opportunity to continue serving the people of Montgomery County, and I look forward to advancing their interests in Harrisburg,” said Toepel. “This session will undoubtedly present challenges, but with a willingness to work with the new administration, we will enjoy many accomplishments.”
Toepel was appointed by Speaker-Designate Mike Turzai to serve as chairman of the committee to inform the governor that the House is organized. The ceremonial committee is comprised of two republicans and one democrat.
“It is an honor to fulfill this duty and participate in the history of the swearing-in ceremony,” Toepel said. “This new experience makes the special day even more memorable for me.”
In the new session, Toepel will focus her legislative efforts on property tax reform, a fair school funding formula and pension reform.
