Toepel to Host Blood Drive Feb. 5 in Gilbertsville
HARRISBURG – Rep. Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) is inviting 147th District residents to join her on Friday, Feb. 5, anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for a Miller-Keystone Blood Drive at her district office, 1885 Swamp Pike Road, Suite 107, Gilbertsville.

“We often say that volunteers give of themselves, whether they are generous with their time or money. But blood donors literally give of themselves,” Toepel said. “Their donations are valuable to so many fellow Americans, and I thank them for making it a priority to help others in a very personal way.”

Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, and according to the American Red Cross, more than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day to meet that demand.

Persons age 17 and older in good health who weigh a minimum of 110 pounds are eligible to donate a unit of blood every eight weeks. Donors will be required to show photo identification on the day of the blood drive.

For more information, including basic blood donor qualifications, residents are encouraged to visit Toepel’s website at and click on the “Upcoming Events” graphic link at the top of the page.

To donate blood, residents should call Chris or Lynn at Toepel’s district office at 610-323-3299 to schedule a donor appointment, which is necessary to participate.

In addition to the blood drive, district residents will have the opportunity to talk with Toepel’s office staff about state government programs and services.
