Toepel to Host Veterans Expo Nov. 21 with Area Lawmakers
HARRISBURG – To inform veterans and their families about the services available to them, area lawmakers will host a Veterans Expo on Monday, Nov. 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in College Hall at Montgomery County Community College.

The event is jointly hosted by Congressman Patrick Meehan (R-PA) and state Reps. Kate Harper (R-Montgomery), Tom Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia), Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) and Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery).

“While our veterans have valiantly served our country – for which I am eternally grateful – many of them are not aware of the programs that are in place for their benefit,” Toepel said. “This expo is a great opportunity to learn about what is available. I hope that the convenience of being able to visit one location, where countless people who are knowledgeable regarding veterans’ needs and programs can provide information, will encourage our veterans to attend and learn more.”

The Montgomery County Veterans Affairs, VA Medical Center, Merck, the U.S. Small Business Administration, Vets Journey Home and many other organizations are planning to participate in the expo. The Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds also will be on site to issue ID cards to Montgomery County Veterans (a DD214 and photo ID are required for ID card issuance).

There is no cost to attend, and light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Toepel’s district office at (610) 323-3299 in Gilbertsville. Information is also available at
