Toepel Makes E-ZPass Applications Available at District Office, on Website

To help local drivers who use the Pennsylvania Turnpike save some money starting next year, Rep. Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) today announced residents can get applications for E-Zpass, an electronic toll collection system on the Turnpike, at her district office or on her website.

“Starting Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, for the third time in as many years, the Turnpike Commission will, once again, increase tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike,” Toepel said. “The tolls will increase by 10 percent for those who pay with cash, while E-ZPass customers, both private and commercial, will pay 3 percent more to drive on the Turnpike.

“These toll increases will place yet another strain on hard-working Pennsylvanians’ wallets. Fortunately, those who use E-ZPass to pay their tolls, as opposed to cash, will see less of an increase. I want to make it as convenient as possible for those who wish to obtain an E-ZPass.”

“Residents in the 147th Legislative District may stop by my district office during normal operating hours to obtain an E-ZPass application,” Toepel added. “For those with internet access, there is a link on my website,, which leads to an online E-ZPass application. Using E-ZPass is not only convenient for motorists; it’s more efficient, economical, and usually results in less idling, which is environmentally friendly.”

Toepel’s district office is located at 105 Memorial Road in Schwenksville. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The 147th Legislative District includes part of Montgomery County consisting of the townships of Douglass, Lower Frederick, Marlborough, part of New Hanover, Perkiomen, Salford, Skippack (portion), Upper Frederick, Upper Hanover, and Upper Salford.  The district also includes the boroughs of East Greenville, Green Lane, Pennsburg, Red Hill and Schwenksville.
