Iron Run’ Motorcycle Ride Set for Oct. 9 in East Greenville

Rep Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) invites area residents to the “Iron Run” motorcycle ride to benefit veterans’ organizations and their families. The event which starts and ends at American Legion Post No. 184 in East Greenville, is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9.

The 200-mile round trip will culminate with a piece of steel from the World Trade Center being transported to the Post to be used as part of a memorial to those who lost their lives due to terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001.

“I am proud to be a part of this event which honors those lost on that fateful day,” Toepel said. “I invite everyone in the East Greenville area to attend and be a part of this memorial that not only symbolizes the strength and character of our community, but the entire country.”

The cost to participate in this event is $20 per rider and $15 for passengers, which includes food, beverages and a commemorative patch. Cars and trucks are also allowed to participate in this event at a cost of $15 per person and $5 for the patch. The ride includes travel through New Jersey, where motorcycle helmets are required to be worn.

American Legion Post No. 184 is located at 744 Gravel Pike, East Greenville.
