Representative Marcy Toepel brings her experience from county government and the private sector to the state Capitol.

Toepel has focused her legislative efforts on cutting government waste, fraud, and spending. Toepel also supports endeavors to reduce taxes and eliminate unreasonable regulations for job creators.

She has been named to serve on the Consumer Affairs, Health (where she will serve as secretary), Judiciary, and Local Government committees during the 2011-12 legislative session. She has also been named to the Government Modernization Policy Development Team.

A long-time resident of western Montgomery County, Toepel graduated with honors from Boyertown Area High School.

Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives, Toepel served as first deputy to the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts and more recently to the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds. In 2006, recognizing her outstanding service to the courts, public and legal community, the Montgomery Bar Association awarded her the honor of Montgomery County Courthouse Employee of the Year. In addition to her work with the county courts, Toepel enhances her business experience by having held positions as an executive assistant and office manager for a locally owned business.

From 1993 to 1997, Toepel served on the Boyertown Area School Board. Her work with area youth extends to serving as a former PTA president and a former volunteer coach and referee with the Boyertown Optimist Club Youth Sports Programs and the Boyertown Baseball League.

Toepel and her husband, Mark, reside in Douglass Township. They have five children: Josh, Jana, Jared, Jordan, and Erin.

The 147th District comprises part of Montgomery County consisting of the Townships of Douglass, Lower Frederick, Marlborough, part of New Hanover, Perkiomen, Salford, Skippack (portion), Upper Frederick, Upper Hanover, and Upper Salford. The district also includes the Boroughs of East Greenville, Green Lane, Pennsburg, Red Hill and Schwenksville.
